Overview:
Level 2 Award in Awareness of Dementia is for those who are interested in learning about dementia. It will be beneficial for those who are currently working in a health and social care setting or who are interested in working in the sector. This course contains four units of assessment all of which are within the “Regulated Qualification Framework” (RQF). For each unit completed successfully, credits are archived. See below for the qualification title, qualification number, and credit value.

Description:
This course is designed to provide learners with an understanding of dementia, including its types, symptoms, and the effects it has on individuals and their carers. Level 2 Award in Awareness of Dementia is made up of four units that explain the complexities of dementia care and prepare learners on how to care for patients with the illness. This course allows you to study at your own pace from the convenience of your home, with the assistance of your own personal tutor and the materials delivered to you digitally.

How will you be assessed?
This course is assessed using the portfolio, where the set questions are designed to test your knowledge of the course materials. You will have access to the learning materials and submit your work online via the learning management system. Your assigned assessor/tutor will direct, guide and mark and check your work throughout the programme. Also, you will need to take part in the workplace observations to complete this course.
